The village of Bellwald has much to offer its visitors in the summer, the Furgangen lift and the chair lift combined allow both walkers and mountain bikers to reach an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea level then there are miles of mountain biking routes and walking paths down for you to explore! There is also a skate-boarding/inline skating park including a half pipe. Bellwald has a football pitch, tennis courts, miniature golf and an indoor pool.
Bellwald was the host of last years IXS Mountain Biking final, this was a great success and bought over 250 riders to the event and several thousand people to the village. Bellwald is fast becoming known for its friendly local riders that are always willing to give a quick guide or a few tips and of course for its fantastic downhill track. We were proud to host the finals party for the downhill cup last year in our Carnotzet Bar and we are looking forward to encouraging more people to visit Bellwald to take advantage of the fantastic mountain biking that is available.
The surroundings in the summer are beautiful, the weather is awesome, you can enjoy quiet walks for miles around, visit the glacier, look at the stunning and often rare flowers that grow or simply relax. Whatever activity you seek Bellwald will certainly not dissappoint!
Bellwald in the Winter
Bellwald is a great ski field for all abilities, the ski region starts from 1'600 and goes to 2'560 meters high. There is blue, red and black pisted runs plus some exciting off piste! Through the production of artificial snow Bellwald can offer snow until the end of the season. Bellwald offers 30km of downhill piests and 9km of cross country trails served by a range of chair lifts and drag lifts. The Hotel Wannenhorn is just two minutes away by bus from the hotel front door, the bus is free for anyone with a ski pass.
However for the mor adventurous skier or simply for a change there is a triple valley of the Eggishorn Glacier which begins with Fiesh and opens out to Bettmeralp and Riederalp for further skiing. This is only 10 minutes away by car or bus.
After a days skiing the Wannenhorn apres ski bar attracks much attention with the locals and the visitors, mixing a lively atmostphere with good beer, music and great apres ski experience! In the winter we offer happy hour everyday from 4pm-6pm, with regular drinks promotions and live music. We have free wirless internet in the bar and we will show all sky sports events plus the latest extreme sports videos on our plasma screen.
